Job Summary 

Evaluation and execution of the approved production plan presented by Sales and Operation Planning. Planning, scheduling and supporting duties in order to support the production plan and inventory control programs of the Company. Coordinate the daily planning department and scheduling of the Job operation under customer orders. Identifying completion dates for purchasing, production planning, Machine Shop, Fabrication Shop, Inventory Control, Assembly, Coating, Testing and Shipping based on material evaluation, capacity planning and Customer requested delivery dates. Create a master schedule that levels work being released to manufacturing and at the same time satisfies customer demand.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Evaluate and fully execute the approved production plans presented by Sales and Operations Planning.
  • Focus on specific manufacturing sources and supports for the overall Sales and Operations Planning process.
  • Execute the plans to meet customer required date.
  • Coordinate and work with all involved departments and external customers to exceed the company, departmental, and client's goals and objectives.
  • Develop production plans and scheduling.
  • Monitor production schedule performance, define any variances and take corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop relevant performance metrics, monitor performance and issue monthly reports.
  • Maintains reports to reflect scheduling methods, support performance and process procedures
  • Create and maintain a valid master schedule for material and capacity by effectively scheduling the supply and demand for product.
  • Create a valid master schedule in which priority due dates are equal to need dates and planned capacity equals required capacity.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the company’s products and processes to ensure optimal master schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling, providing lead-times and load-leveling.
  • Analyze the demand and supply balance at the product family and master schedule levels, determining out of balance conditions, identifying alternatives, and recommending action for approval.
  • Summarize daily and weekly master schedules for released and firm planned orders and compare these to the production plan to ensure that the master schedule is within S&OP policy.
  • Work within policy guidelines pertaining to master scheduling. 
  • Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity.
  • Maintain a master schedule following the company policy of permitting no master schedule item to have a released or firm planned order date less than the current date (no past dues at the master schedule level).
  • Ensure that a common master schedule is used to drive all company priorities in manufacturing, marketing, sales, engineering, and finance.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 6 years of production planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
  • CPIM certified, preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a manufacturing environment. This could include tasks near moving mechanical parts, assembly and testing of equipment, fumes or airborne particles, and situations that are stationary at a desk in front of a computer. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to wear proper PPE including but not limited to safety glasses and steel-toed boots or equivalent.

 

Annual Compensation Range:  $95,000 - $120,000
