Our Junior Buyer plays a key role in our Supply Chain group by procuring materials, developing cost effective sources of supply and expediting the receipt of goods.  Responsibilities include material procurement and planning activities taking into consideration the quality of material, the price of material, the material receipt date, the customer delivery date, the production schedule and the quality systems.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsible for commodity and project parts buying that support both OE and Aftermarket business requirements.

 

Places orders on suppliers to satisfy production schedule material demands.

 

Attends production meetings with status of materials Keeps current of changes in production requirements and in customer delivery needs. Places orders on suppliers to satisfy production schedule material demands and communicates requirement to suppliers.  

 

Keeps internal customers abreast of problems with delayed receipt of material, cost discrepancies, and other issues that would impact production schedule and effect customer delivery dates

 

Fosters and maintains a professional relationship with assigned suppliers, seeking to improve the suppliers’ value through continuous improvement in product quality cost competitiveness on time delivery.

 

Monitors supplier delivery schedules, expedites when necessary and resolves conflicts to ensure on time delivery meets targeted goals.

 

Complies with all Company policies and procedures including health, safety and environmental.

 

Completes all other Company related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

BA/BS degree preferred

1 to 3 years related experience prefered

Excellent negotiating, communicating, organizational and computer skills

Ability to move about the office and factory and communicate with all employees

The Company requires on site attendance for this position.
