Job Summary

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods within the McKeesport manufacturing facility. This role ensures timely availability of materials to support production schedules and customer demands, while maintaining compliance with company standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and supplies.
  • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas for optimal efficiency and safety.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Issue materials to production teams based on work orders and schedules.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP systems.
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams to forecast inventory needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment.
Certifications:
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • OSHA safety training is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
  • Prior experience in valve or industrial equipment manufacturing.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory software).
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

This position is based in a manufacturing shop environment and requires frequent physical activity.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
  • Use hands and arms to handle tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts and overhead cranes.
  • Be exposed to moderate to high noise levels, vibrations, and varying temperatures.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
  • Occasionally work around chemicals, lubricants, or other industrial materials.
  • Work overtime or shifts depending on production need

Estimate pay range is $24-$25
