We are hiring a Design Engineer for our McKeesport location. The Design Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and will focus on product development and design for the Nuclear Power Industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models and corresponding drawing packages, BOM, and structured part numbers.
- Create test prototypes and research and track prototype performance.
- Collaborate with other teams.
- Contribute to the streamlining of the engineering process while working within the parameters of the established engineering practice and QA Program.
- Prepare documentation such as test procedures, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Perform FMEA Risk Analysis.
- Perform Design Calculations.
- Create electrical enclosure and wiring diagrams.
- Develop and assist on assigned projects, converting customer specifications into design or QA requirements, designing projects to operate within our systems and customer systems, and working to ensure deliverables are achieved.
- Represent the organization at Nuclear Industry Forums.
- Assist in the development of core standard engineering product lines.
Qualifications:
- Possess a 4-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering.
- Proven ability and experience in:
- Modeling and detail drawing in 3D CAD, preferably SolidEdge.
- Product development and design for the Nuclear Power Industry.
- Designing electro-hydraulic systems including, but not limited to: hydraulic cylinders, gas-charged accumulator systems, pneumatic cylinders, electric valves.
- Taking products from initial concept through development to production-ready.
- Technical communications with international customers.
- Writing technical specifications.
- Exhibit a high level of competency in MS Office applications.
- Be a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision and can work well under a compressed schedule.
- Minimal travel may be required.
