Job Description
Draftsman / Designer – Rotating Equipment
Department: Engineering / Operations
Location: Trillium Flow Middle East, Jubail, Saudi Arabia
Reports To: Engineering Manager / Operations Manager
Job Purpose
The Draftsman / Designer is responsible for preparing, developing, and maintaining detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for rotating equipment, with a primary focus on pumps, pump components, and spare parts. The role involves utilizing 3D scanning technologies, reverse engineering techniques, AutoCAD, and other CAD software to produce accurate manufacturing and repair drawings that support Trillium Flow Middle East's repair, maintenance, and aftermarket services.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
- Create detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings for pumps, pump assemblies, and rotating equipment components.
- Develop manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, sectional views, and spare parts drawings.
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
- Revise and update existing drawings based on engineering requirements and customer specifications.
- Ensure drawing accuracy and compliance with applicable engineering standards and tolerances.
Reverse Engineering & 3D Scanning
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools.
- Utilize 3D scanning equipment to capture geometry of pumps and spare parts.
- Convert scanned data into accurate CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Support reverse engineering activities for obsolete or unavailable spare parts.
- Verify scanned models against actual measurements and technical requirements.
Technical Support
- Work closely with engineers, machinists, and workshop personnel to clarify design requirements.
- Support repair and manufacturing projects through technical drawing preparation.
- Participate in equipment inspections and failure analysis activities where required.
- Assist in developing engineering solutions for refurbishment and component redesign.
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain engineering drawing databases and revision control systems.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company quality standards and customer requirements.
- Support ISO, HSE, and quality management system requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and proprietary engineering information.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or related technical discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechanical drafting and design.
- Experience with rotating equipment, particularly centrifugal pumps, API pumps, and associated spare parts.
- Experience in reverse engineering and repair environments is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
Mandatory
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as:
- SolidWorks
- Inventor
- Creo
- Solid Edge (or equivalent)
- Experience using 3D scanning software and point-cloud processing tools.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, and tolerancing standards.
- Knowledge of pump components including:
- Impellers
- Shafts
- Sleeves
- Casings
- Wear Rings
- Mechanical Seal Components
- Bearing Housings
Measurement Tools Knowledge
- Vernier Calipers
- Micrometers
- Bore Gauges
- Height Gauges
- Dial Indicators
- Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) (preferred)
- Portable 3D Scanners

- Familiarity with CNC machining requirements and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with ERP systems and engineering document management systems.
