Application Engineer
Location: Fresno, CA
FLSA Classification: Exempt / Salaried
California Compensation Range: $90,000 – $120,000
(Compensation is determined by a combination of an individual’s relevant work experience and educational requirements.)
Purpose
The Application Engineer at Trillium Flow Technologies plays a key role in the Commercial Operations Team, managing engineered centrifugal pump supply projects from quotation through execution. This role is responsible for technical alignment, cost estimation, and customer support throughout the “quote to cash” process, serving as the primary internal and external point of contact during project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer material requisitions (MRs) and project specifications to determine technical requirements.
- Select appropriate pump models and sizes to meet performance criteria.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to validate pump selections for critical applications.
- Manage customer technical queries, clarifications, and deviations.
- Support technical alignment of engineered subcomponents such as seals, drivers, lube oil systems, gears, and control panels.
- Evaluate and configure pump options to determine complete item cost.
- Prepare comprehensive quote packages, including all required documentation, for submission through the sales team.
- Review purchase orders for accuracy and alignment with quotations.
- Launch and coordinate internal project kick-off meetings in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor project schedules and KPIs, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Track project costs and intervene when variances from budget occur.
- Support Credit Control with cash collection, claims, and financial forecasting.
- Manage change orders from cost estimation through quote submission.
- Observe all safety and ISO 9001/14001 Requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of client-facing experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering and order processing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment will vary. In certain areas of the facility, personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs.
