Purpose of Role:
Under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor, the Traffic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating outbound and inbound shipments to ensure timely delivery to customers while managing freight costs and carrier performance. This role supports efficient transportation operations and ensures compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
- Select and coordinate transportation carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
- Support freight rate management by assisting in rate negotiations and monitoring transportation costs.
- Review customer orders for accuracy, including shipping instructions, credit approvals, freight terms (e.g., COD, direct ship, customer pickups), and carrier selection requirements.
- Monitor and control freight rates for both inbound and outbound shipments to ensure cost efficiency.
- Maintain shipping-related records and files, including Bills of Lading, ship-with orders, credit holds, and sales holds.
- Track shipments and follow up on deliveries, resolving issues and processing freight claims as needed.
- Process customer and parts orders as they relate to shipping activities.
- Assist with coordination of export shipments, including preparation of Bills of Lading and required international shipping documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Purchasing, Customer Service) and external partners (carriers, forwarders) to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and ISO 9001/14001 requirements.
- Adhere to company policies, including code of conduct, time and attendance, and operational procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in domestic and/or international logistics or transportation coordination.
- Experience with ERP systems (Syteline strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of transportation processes, freight terms, and carrier coordination.
- Familiarity with trade regulations (e.g., NAFTA/USMCA) preferred.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment may vary. In certain areas of the facility, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs.
