Position Summary

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading both the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of outbound logistics operations. This role oversees a high-performing shipping team and leverages systems, data, and technology to ensure accurate, on-time delivery to customers. The ideal candidate is a proactive logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing shipping team with a strong focus on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Establish and monitor KPIs to drive performance and operational excellence
• Conduct performance evaluations and support employee growth and development

Operations & Logistics Management

• Oversee daily shipping activities, ensuring accuracy in documentation, labeling, and regulatory compliance
• Monitor shipping schedules and inventory accuracy through system controls and audits
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors

Systems & Process Optimization

• Utilize ERP, WMS, and other logistics systems to manage and track shipping operations
• Leverage data and analytics to optimize routing, reduce costs, and improve service levels
• Coordinate with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure reliable delivery performance

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Planning, Production, Customer Service, and Inventory teams to align shipping with demand and production schedules
• Communicate proactively with internal teams and customers regarding shipment status, delays, or risks
• Ensure a high level of responsiveness to customer and business needs

Compliance & Administration

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations
• Maintain accurate shipping records, reports, and audit documentation
• Manage labor scheduling, timekeeping, and employee records

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of shipping/logistics experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, strategic mindset
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred
• Forklift certification or hands-on experience is a plus

Work Environment

 Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection, may be required in designated areas.

Compensation & Classification

• FLSA Status: Exempt (Salaried)
• Salary Range: $ 72,000 – $85,000 annually
