Position Summary 

As a Shipping Supervisor, you will lead the strategic direction and daily execution of outbound logistics operations. You will manage a high-performing shipping team while leveraging advanced supply chain systems, data analytics, and technology to drive performance and ensure on-time, accurate delivery to customers. Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership & Talent Development 

  • Coach and develop a high-performance shipping team with clear expectations, accountability, and career growth pathways with safety-first culture.
  • Establish KPIs and drive accountability through data-informed decision-making. 
  • Conduct performance reviews and support career development for team members. 

Technology-Driven Operations 

  • Oversee the use of ERP, WMS, and other digital logistics platforms to manage shipping operations. 
  • Drive logistics optimization through automation, analytics, and strategic routing. 
  • Coordinate with carriers and 3PLs to enhance cost efficiency and service levels. 

Operational Management 

  • Supervise the execution of outbound shipments, ensuring all documentation, labels, and compliance requirements are met. 
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and shipping timelines using system-based controls and regular audits. 
  • Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives. 

Collaboration & Communication 

  • Collaborate with Planning, Production, Customer Service, and Inventory teams to align shipping with real-time demand and production output.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external customer needs related to shipments and logistics status. 
  • Ensure proactive communication and transparency on order status, delays, or logistics risks.

Compliance & Reporting 

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable regulations. 
  • Manage shipping documentation, performance dashboards, and audit trails to support internal controls and customer requirements.
  • Oversee labor scheduling, timecard approvals, and corrective actions using ADP Workforce Now.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field – OR – equivalent relevant experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in shipping/logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Forklift certification or operational experience is advantageous. 

Work Environment 

Work is performed in both office and warehouse settings. Use of PPE such as safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, and hearing protection may be required in designated areas. 

FLSA Classification:  Exempt/Salary

Annual Salary Range:  $68,640 – $80,000
