Business Need / Purpose of Role:

The purpose of the Project Engineer at Trillium Flow Technologies is to lead the design and implementation of innovative pump solutions and manufacturing processes to deliver customer value while ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role is dedicated to ensuring efficient project execution, optimizing product designs and production workflows, and enhancing product performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions that meet customer needs in the pump manufacturing sector.

 

Objectives & Measurement

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities: (results this role is expected to accomplish)

Including but not limited to:

 

 

  • Manage and engineer customer orders to ensure high-quality pump systems are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Review customer specifications, technical requirements, and project scope for pump systems and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with sales, application engineers, project managers, and customers to clarify technical requirements and propose solutions.
  • Create and manage project submittal packages including drawings, specification comments, procedures, calculations, performance curves, and general product data.
  • Develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs and specification requirements.
  • Continuously improve and optimize design and manufacturing processes for pump systems to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and schematics for pump systems using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo).
  • Develop and maintain accurate bill of materials (BOMs) for each project, ensuring all components are accounted for and meet customer specifications.
  • Work closely with design teams to ensure that the drawings and BOMs are accurate, manufacturable, and cost-effective.
  • Provide technical support and collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, testing, purchasing, planning, quality, sales, and aftermarket service.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during the production process and work with manufacturing teams to resolve them.
  • Ensure that all projects meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to drive innovation and ensure product competitiveness.
  • Develop engineering standards, provide mentorship and support to engineers/interns, and foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
  • Observe all safety and ISO 9001/14001 Requirements.
  • Responsible for adhering to the organization’s code of conduct, time and attendance and all other company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation: $75,000 - 115,000

Education/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a preference in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Work Experience: 5-10+ years of experience preferred in project engineering, ideally in the pump or fluids handling industry.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate / P.E. license strongly preferred.
  • Expert understanding of general engineering principles and their application.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD / PLM / CAE systems. Desired experience with: Creo, Windchill, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SolidWorks PDM tools.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, GD&T, product design, BOMs, and technical solutions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with centrifugal pumps, pump systems, specification review, and equipment submittal processes is preferred.   
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of effective teamwork.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for successful interaction with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices relevant to pump design and manufacturing.

 

 

 

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment will vary. In certain areas of the facility personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs.
