Business Need / Purpose of Role
The Project Engineer Intern (Summer Internship) will support the Project Engineering team in the analysis and standardization of product designs.This role provides hands-on engineering experience through ownership of a defined project that supports manufacturability, efficiency, and product improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the evaluation and standardization of discharge head designs to reduce engineered-to-order variation
- Analyze existing designs and identify opportunities for improved manufacturability and efficiency
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand shop capabilities and incorporate constraints into design solutions
- Develop and update 3D models, engineering drawings, and related documentation
- Assist with engineering analysis (e.g., FEA) to validate design concepts
- Compile and analyze data to support engineering recommendations and decision-making
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders and participate in midpoint and final presentations
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety protocols
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Engineering function
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and code of conduct
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Basic understanding of engineering principles, design concepts, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Exposure to engineering drawings and design documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment
- Interest in manufacturing, product engineering, or project engineering

Work Environment
