Position Purpose
The Production Planning Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the production planning process to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing operations. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, who can effectively manage resources, maintain inventory levels, and coordinate with various departments to meet production targets and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall management, continued development, and coaching of the planning team.
- Responsible for setting short and long-term KPIs of department, measuring performance to goals, and setting priorities to achieve goals.
- Develops, implements, maintains, and improves guidelines and procedures for the planning processes to ensure the necessary material is procured and resources are available to deliver daily production plans.
- Utilizes data science techniques and AI tools to optimize inventory levels, predict demand, enhance supply chain and deploy new planning techniques to meet customer order needs.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality assurance, and logistics departments to ensure smooth production operations and adherence to quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including management, production teams, and external partners, to address any production-related issues or changes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in production planning and inventory management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in production planning or supply chain management within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling techniques, and inventory management principles.
- 3+ year of data science background is required.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or management role required.
- Proficiency with working in an ERP system.
- Experience with advanced planning methods using data science and Ai.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Strong organizational and business skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
FLSA Classification: Exempt / Salary
Annual Compensation Range: $120,000 – 150,000
