Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and innovative Kaizen Engineer to join our continuous improvement team. Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Kaizen Engineer will focus on implementing the Kaizen philosophy of continuous, incremental improvement across our pump manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency, enhance productivity, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement Manager to develop and execute Kaizen initiatives throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Conduct Kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions to educate and engage employees at all levels in continuous improvement practices.
  • Identify areas for improvement within manufacturing processes through observation, data analysis, and employee feedback.
  • Develop and implement small-scale, incremental improvements to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented Kaizen initiatives, ensuring sustained performance and adherence to standards.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to drive improvement projects and achieve set goals.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for further improvement.
  • Document and standardize improved processes to ensure consistency and repeatability.
  • Prepare and present reports on Kaizen initiatives and their outcomes to management.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in Kaizen and continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an industrial technology degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a continuous improvement role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the pump industry.
  • Able to demonstrate strong knowledge of Kaizen principles, Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using continuous improvement tools such as kanban, 5-why, PCDA cycle, gemba walks, or value stream mapping.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred), or related continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

FLSA Category:  Exempt/Salary 

Annual Salary Range:  $75,000 - $95,000
