POSITION SUMMARY

Trillium Flow Technologies is seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and advance our safety and environmental programs at our Fresno, CA facility. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support the company’s certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. This role is instrumental in sustaining a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and environmental responsibility.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Regulatory and ISO Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS management systems aligned with ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards.
  • Participate in external and internal audits, support certification efforts, and manage audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and improve documentation required for ISO audits, including procedures, training records, and risk assessments.

 

Environmental Management

  • Oversee environmental programs including hazardous waste management, air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, and recycling initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives for environmental sustainability and reduction of the site’s carbon and waste footprint.
  • Prepare required environmental reports and coordinate permit renewals and regulatory filings.

 

Health & Safety Programs

  • Design, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety policies and procedures to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments; develop corrective action plans and ensure timely closure.
  • Maintain safety metrics and support the implementation of KPIs and improvement goals.

 

Training & Awareness

  • Develop and deliver EHS training in alignment with regulatory and ISO requirements, including onboarding, emergency preparedness, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote employee involvement and safety culture through toolbox talks, safety committees, and behavior-based safety programs.

 

Incident Investigation & Reporting

  • Lead investigations of workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental non-conformances using root cause analysis tools.
  • Document findings and implement corrective/preventive measures; ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory bodies as required.

 

Documentation & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain comprehensive records to support regulatory and ISO compliance (e.g., SDSs, inspection logs, injury/illness logs, training records, permits).
  • Support development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments for EHS-related activities.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Facilitate Management of Change (MOC) processes and risk assessments for new equipment or operational changes.
  • Participate in EHS-related Kaizen or lean initiatives to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

 

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience supporting or maintaining ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 systems preferred.
  • Certifications (preferred):
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
    • ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Internal Auditor
    • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
    • HAZWOPER Certification

 

Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and ISO standards
    • Strong documentation, organizational, and project management skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, training, and communication abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS software systems

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Split time between office and manufacturing floor.
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments and wear required PPE.
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical inspections.

 

 

Location: Fresno, CA
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Compensation Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications)
