Application Engineering Manager

Purpose 

The Application Engineering Manager at Trillium Flow Technologies leads the OE application engineering team, ensuring that quotations meet customer-provided specifications, meeting commercial and financial targets and delivered on time. 

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively oversee and drive the quotation lifecycle from receipt to order acceptance.  Manage day-to-day activities of the Application Engineering team while cultivating a high-performance team culture, and provide quotations on a regular basis.
• Review all quotes for accuracy, pricing and margin, ensuring all levels of corporate approval are met. Take ownership of assigned duties and drive action to satisfy customer requirements. 
• Support good lines of communications with channel partners, field sales and the wider organization.  Collaborate with and engage pertinent departments to promote teamwork and reinforce a sense of urgency on behalf of our customer. 
• Provide training on applications such as SCORE; SalesForce; LTC and Syteline.   Research and help resolve issues and discrepancies, when needed.    
• Uphold, drive and continuously evaluate processes to improve customer satisfaction, accuracy, appropriate awareness and cycle time for all front-end activities.    
• Recruit, develop and evaluate team members to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
• Exhibit a high level of integrity with regard to sensitive, confidential and/or proprietary company information which includes costs, pricing methods, and product information.   

• Comply with all department and company policies, procedures and programs.

• Observe all safety and ISO 9001/14001 Requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or a related field) or equivalent technical experience.
• 3+ years of Applications Engineering experience quoting rotating equipment in the pump industry.
• 2+ years of Management experience leading a team of engineers and/or other presale professionals.
• Experience in process transformation with a focus on accuracy and efficiency initiatives.
• Change agent with a motivational attitude and the ability to align team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication including ability to articulate moderate to highly technical concepts, materials and configurations to pertinent stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects of varying lengths concurrently.  Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fluid manner. 
• Good analytical, and system troubleshooting skills.  Places high importance on attention to detail.
• Occasional travel, up to 10%.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment will vary. In certain areas of the facility personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs.

FLSA Classification:  Salaried/Exempt

California Compensation Range:  $110,000 - $150,000  (Compensation is determined by a combination of an individual’s relevant work experience and educational requirements).
