Application Engineer

Position Summary

The Application Engineer is responsible for providing expert technical support and solutions to Trillium Flow Technologies’ customers while promoting the company’s products and services. Based in Fresno, CA, this role plays a critical part in bridging customer requirements with Trillium’s engineering and sales capabilities. The Application Engineer partners with customers to understand their technical challenges, develops tailored solutions, and ensures the optimal application of Trillium’s fluid handling technologies. This position works closely with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to drive customer satisfaction, business growth, and long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Technical Support

• Collaborate with customers to understand technical requirements and challenges, providing customized solutions using Trillium Flow Technologies’ products and services.

• Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and training sessions to highlight product features, benefits, and applications.

• Provide expert technical support throughout the sales process, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with product selection.

Sales & Proposal Development

• Partner with the sales team to develop technical proposals and cost-effective solutions that align with customer needs and product capabilities.

• Prepare detailed quotations, technical documents, and product specifications in support of commercial opportunities.

Engineering Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering and product development teams to relay customer feedback, identify enhancement opportunities, and contribute to new product development.

• Analyze application data and system requirements to recommend appropriate product configurations and system designs.

Product Knowledge & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including specifications, data sheets, and installation guidelines.

• Stay current with industry trends, competitive technologies, and advancements in fluid handling equipment to support effective customer communication.

Market Engagement & Promotion

• Participate in trade shows, industry events, and customer visits to represent Trillium Flow Technologies and promote its full product portfolio.

• Foster strong relationships within the industry to identify new opportunities and strengthen brand presence.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all activities comply with Trillium’s safety policies and quality management systems.

• Observe all ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements and promote a culture of operational excellence.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.

• 3–7 years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or product support, preferably within the pumps, valves, or rotating equipment industries.

• Demonstrated success supporting customers in industrial, energy, or process environments.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of fluid handling systems, mechanical design, and process applications.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical data.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

FLSA Classification: Exempt/Salary

Annual Compensation Range: $90,000-130,000
