Business Need / Purpose of Role: 

As Field Service Lead responsibilities include working directly with teams and clients to ensure their care. They explain what options are available and keep records about everything offered in the facility. Also, to manage all activities and personnel in the Field Service Department. Ensures quality and delivery requirements are met. Ensures compliance of safety rules as well as company policies and practices.

 

Objectives & Measurement

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

·        Manages all Field Service department functions, activities, and personnel. Overseas disassembly, inspection, assembly, troubleshooting and testing of rotating equipment, with direct support if required.

·        Support Operation Manager estimates for filed activity requirements for costing information on quotations and proposals.

·        Determine the acceptability of components for use as is or repair for field activities.

·        Schedules workflow to ensure scheduled attendance dates are met and resources are used efficiently.

·        Schedules overtime as needed to meet completion requirements and submit the plan for approval

·        Responsible for managing budgets and costs received within the field service department.

·        Responsible for quality measures such as scrap, rework and returns costs.

·        Approves material purchases needed to meet requirements.

·        Selects, trains, motivates, and handles performance matters for all department personnel.

·        Ensure that all employees follow safety rules and receives proper training on use of equipment. Ensures shop equipment is functioning properly and have proper safety guards.

·        Ensures that company policies and practices are being complied with in the pump shop area.

·        Provides training to department personnel.

·        Drives improvements to customer on site services provided.

·        Develops specially tooling and sketches of product and tooling as required.

·        Attendances on schedule.

·        Zero lost time accidents.

·        Reduction in costs/wastage and scrap

 

 

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of fitting and operation processes. 

·        Strong product knowledge of rotating equipment, including mechanical analysis

·        Basic understanding of planning, purchasing and inventory management concepts. 

·        Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. 

·        Ability to develop relationships with others. 

·        Self-starter with ability to make technical and business decisions. 

·        Ability to train and motivate others. 

·        Ability to learn computer programs. 

·        A good understanding of safe operating practices & hazard identification is essential.

 

Education and/or Experience:

·        Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Field Service.

·        Degree in related field.

·        Vibration certification is plus.
